2012

Wow, 2012 is officially here!  I'd love your help with something.  I finished the sequel to "Envy Green" (well, minus editing), and now I'm ready to start on the cover.  The problem is, I can't decide which image to use for the cover.  So, here are the choices.

Your basic thumbprint heart.  I would probably need to enlarge it a bit so that it's not this giant mass of color for the background and this teeny tiny heart.

There's a heart, it's red.  The title is "Love Red".  I can't decide which image fits better.  Because the thumbprint one could be supposedly made by the two main characters, but I don't really know.  The red heart feels impersonal, while the thumbprint one feel special like the green eye on "Envy Green".  Both feel totally cool and linked to the story.  Thoughts?

  1. What about turning the thumbprint heart red? And did you get the email with Envy Green's cover?

    Happy New Year!

  2. Hmm. I love the passionate colors on the red one, but the thumbprint is really cool. Maybe if you added a vibrant background to the thumbprint on so that it's a redish color. Or maybe you could add a part to your sequel that says the characters did something with their thumbprint so that they'd understand the cover.
Hope I helped and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  3. Seana, great idea! I definitely agree about making some of the thumbprint red, or doing a redish background, and about the part where the characters do something with their thumbs, brilliant! :)

  4. I personally like the thumbprint... but yeah I would change it to a different color. Definitely. The only reason I wouldn't do the second choice would be because of your first story's cover, the eye. If you had something that looked so real in the first story, I would have another real picture for the second like the thumb prints. I love your choices though and good luck deciding!

  5. I love the red one. I'm so jealous, but one day I'm going to be able to make graphics like that (If only I don't currently devote so much time to my blending XD)
I'm not sure if you know me- I'm Amy, one of Nicole's friends from WI. She's asked me to help with some of your covers (which I'm greatly enjoying, BTW)
I'd love to be able to read one of your stories, particularly DoaH or Envy Green.
Is there any way you could send them to me?

  9. I like Seana's idea. I personally prefer the thumbprint one over the red heart one.
