As I was working on this post, I realized that a lot of the books I read when I was little were classics. Here are my favorites!
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
2. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
3. Emma by Jane Austen
4. Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster
5. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
6. From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg
7. Hamlet by William Shakespeare
8. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (except The Horse and His Boy)
9. Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace
10. The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and HAMLET are two of my favorites! And what kind of book has the title DADDY-LONG-LEGS?! Thanks for stopping by!

I had not thought about Daddy Longlegs forever, such a lovely book.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Daddy-Long-Legs was a book! I've seen the Fred Astaire / Leslie Caron musical. I haven't read Betsy-Tacy either, but everything else on your list gets a great big YES!

Love Hamlet! Great choices!

I need to read Jane Austen's books! And I like the covers of the top two books, I don't think I have seen those versions before! They kind of remind me of the covers of Christian romance books. :)
ReplyDeleteI am in total agreement about Pride & Prejudice and To Kill A Mockingbird! Great books that have made it to lots of lists!

Oh, I've never heard of Daddy Long Legs. I included the Mixed Up Files on my TTT list this week too.
