Villains in any form of entertainment are important.  The hero needs obstacles, and someone who is directly opposed to the hero's goals is a great device.  So, who are your favorite movie villains?

Mother Gothel

1. Mother Gothel from Tangled
I love how, although we all know what a villain she is, there are also little clues hinting at her true intentions (like how she treats Rapunzel's hair more important than the girl herself) and how she uses the thug brothers to achieve her goals.

Belle and Gaston, "Beauty and the Beast"

2. Gaston from Beauty and the Beast
The fact that he has such sexist views and has terrible possessive and jealous streaks makes him a great villain.  I'm glad he got his just desserts.

This next one is a bit spoiler-ific if you haven't seen Frozen, just fyi.

3. Hans from Frozen
Best villain decision Disney has ever made.  NO ONE was expecting that.  Everyone in the theater gasped when his true intentions were revealed.  In retrospect, there were moments where his status was hinted at, but I didn't see it coming.

I JUST READ A SPOILER CONCERNING LOKI IN THE DARK WORLD. D: AHH It wasn't that bad but I wish I hadn't read it. Seeing it during the movie would of made the movie amazing but...NOW I KNOW BEFORE. And it is ruined.

4. Loki from Thor, Thor 2, and The Avengers
Now don't get me wrong: there are some people who are in love with Loki and think he's clearly just misunderstood.  I am not one of those.  I think he's a terrific villain, and I hate him for that (but also like him for it).  Tom Hiddleston is an amazing actor, and I think he's part of what makes Loki so great.

I _knew_ that kahmunrah's evil plan would fall apart, as soon as he brought Ivan the Terrible, Napoleon, and Al Capone in on it. Supervillians, do _not_ try bringing the most notorious people back to the present as part of your evil plan. You should _know_ that that is _not_ going to work out. Night at the museum 2 was a very good movie.

5. Kahmunrah from Night at the Museum 2
I can quote his whole introductory speech, and he's so crazy that he's awesome.

lizard from monsters inc | randall from monsters inc has the long body similar to my character ...

6. Randall from Monsters Inc. and Monsters University
Randall is one of my favorite villains solely because he amuses me.

  3. Nice picks! I'm sorry I missed this one. : /

Loki makes a terrific villain. I'm glad you consider him as a villain, because he totally is. So incredibly selfish. I am looking very forward to seeing him in Thor 2 though!

Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender (the TV show, not the movie) is my absolute favorite villain ever!!! She is amazing and continues to be amazing in the graphic novels. Brrrrr. Zuko was a great villain too, but he makes a much better hero.
