Top Ten Tuesday: 2014 Releases

I did this topic about a month ago for Random Friday, but I'm eager to do it again, since there are sooooo many books I'm looking forward to.

13206828

1. Cress by Marissa Meyer (February 4)
This still tops my list.  I'm still holding out in hopes I can get an ARC, but I know I'll be preordering it.  I can't wait to see the cover in person.  It's easily one of the best covers I've ever seen.

18594377

2. The Chapel Wars by Lindsey Leavitt (May 6)
It has a cover now!  With a blurb from Elizabeth Eulberg!  I love, love, love the idea for this book, and its cover is perfect.  I. Cannot. Wait.

17814086

3. When Audrey Met Alice by Rebecca Behrens (February 4)
I love the idea for this book.  It sounds fun and unique.

18530135

4. Royally Lost by Angie Stanton (May 6)
This sounds like a modern-day, gender-bent Roman Holiday, so I'm sure it'll be great fun.

8585924

5. Dangerous by Shannon Hale (March 4)
It's Shannon Hale.  Her books have never disappointed me.

18053060

6. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (April 1)
Epic Reads has me very excited for this one.  I still need to read No Place Like Oz (which is sort of like a prequel novella), but I need to know why Dorothy must die.

17565845

7. Panic by Lauren Oliver (March 4)
This book sounds like a contemporary Hunger Games, so I'm definitely interested.  I have an ARC, so I should be reading it soon...

16059149

8. Magnolia by Kristi Cook (August 5)
Y'all should know by now how I feel about Southern settings.  I LOVE them.  Hopefully this'll live up to my expectations.

18699459

9. Wildflower by Alecia Whitaker (July 1)
Y'all also should know how much I adore Taylor Swift.  Bird Barrett, the main character of Wildflower, sounds a lot like Taylor so this should be an interesting book.  Something else interesting I just realized: Taylor Swift was discovered at the Bluebird Cafe.  Wonder if that's coincidence or not?

Last but definitely not least... Untitled by Amy Zhang (expected fall 2014)
I've gotten to know Amy over the past few months ever since she announced that her book was sold to Greenwillow.  And I'm so excited for her.  I can't wait to see the cover and find out the title.  And maybe, just maybe, when the book comes out, I'll have an interview with her. :)

Honorable Mentions
Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy, Independent Study by Joelle Charbonneau (especially now that I've read The Testing!), Maybe One Day by Melissa Kantor, Something Real by Heather Demetrios, Open Road Summer by Emery Lord, Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira, Wicked Little Secrets by Kara Taylor, The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith

There are so many others that I'm excited for.  If you're interested to see what else I'm looking forward to, you can check out my Goodreads shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/20585548?shelf=to-read-unreleased.

  1. Oh, I should've added Chapel Wars, I absolutely loved Leavitt's Going Vintage. Wildflower does seem like your kind of book :) Panic, yes. Love Letters to the Dead, yes. Geography of You and Me, yes. Okay, yep, you're right, we have very similar tastes :)

  3. We're looking forward to a lot of the same books! I LOVE the cover of The Chapel Wars! Royally Lost sounds really good. Wildflower! I know, as soon as I read about the book it made me think of Taylor Swift! And since she is my favorite singer, that's a major reason for me wanting to read the book! :) Great list!

  4. Great picks! I'm excited to read #scandal as it sounds really great, excited to have the ARC so I don't have to wait for that one. Wildflower is one I haven't seen before but it sounds like a great read. My TTT

    1. By Kiera Cass? I'm excited for that one, too, but since it made my Random Friday list, I didn't put it on this one.
