Awkwordly Emma's 2014 Book Awards Finalists

Lately, I have been largely disappointed with the results of fan-voted book awards (namely, the Goodreads Choice and Epic Reads Book Shimmy Awards). It always seems that the book with the largest fanbase wins and usually not the title that's actually the best. It's pretty hard to prevent this, I understand, but I still wasn't happy. So I decided it was time to host my own awards.

(It's so sparkly, I couldn't resist.)

I tweeted back in November, asking for help nominating and promoting. Several wonderful bloggers responded and helped me choose books to nominate in almost every category. I didn't want this based solely on books I liked because where's the fun in that? I did choose all the categories, though, and I actually had to narrow it down because I had so many.
The group of bloggers who helped me may reveal themselves if they so desire, but I'm keeping who nominated what completely secret. All you have to know is, I told them to nominate whatever book they felt best fit the category as long as a) it was published in 2014, and b) it was YA.
To make this more fun, I'm planning (if I have time in my busy college schedule) to film the results much like one of my book hauls. Also, everyone who votes has the option to be entered in a raffle giveaway to win books and/or book swag. But you have to vote to be entered, so if you don't, I'm sorry, but your entry won't count.

The voting form is below, and you'll have until January 18 to vote. Spread the word, too, if you so desire (it would make me very happy).

  1. What do I do if I want to vote but I haven't read any of the books in the category? Should I just vote for the one that sounds the most interesting? Or can I not vote at all?

    1. If you have to, you can skip categories. Or if there's one you WANT to read, vote for that one.
